In human resources or industrial/organizational psychology, 360-degree feedback, also known as multi-rater feedback, multisource feedback, or multisource assessment, is feedback that comes from all around an employee. "360" refers to the 360 degrees in a circle, with an individual figuratively in the center of the circle. Feedback is provided by subordinates, peers, and supervisors. It also includes a self-assessment and, in some cases, feedback from external sources such as customers and suppliers or other interested stakeholders. It may be contrasted with "upward feedback," where managers are given feedback by their direct reports, or a "traditional performance appraisal," where the employees are most often reviewed only by their managers.

When a PRI client is committed to developing their leadership capacity as a part of the process, there is a 360° feedback rating system employed. The first of two elements of this 360° feedback process is to provide quantitative data with the aid of Everything DiSC® 363™ for Leaders. This will be followed up with a one on one, brief structured interview, either in person or by phone. This provides the client the opportunity to answer open ended questions to deliver qualitative information as well on all leaders and/or leader candidates.

Many leadership development programs use 360° assessments, which ask a leader's manager, peers, direct reports, and others to rate the leader's effectiveness. Rating other people can be stressful, and we chose Everything DiSC 363 for Leaders because it's different. The 363 rater, enjoys a streamlined experience. It is conducted on-line and will only take about 20 minutes to complete.

This quantitative assessment will in turn include two parts: a 72-item Leadership Behavior section, as well as a 24-item Leadership Requests section that asks which leadership practices the rater would like to see the leader do more of. In addition, each rater will have the option to use a selectable comments feature to help clarify their feedback. The one on one interview is scheduled with a PRI professional and utilize a structured interview instrument.
